Cisco Webex Team (Cisco Spark)

Content Sharing Project

Cisco Webex Teams is a collaboration platform designed for teams to work together seamlessly regardless of their location. It allows users to communicate through messaging, video meetings, file sharing, whiteboarding, and more. With Webex Teams, users can create virtual workspaces where they can chat, share files, and collaborate in real-time. It also integrates with other Cisco products and third-party applications, providing a comprehensive solution for team communication and collaboration.

My Role

For a span of three years, I served as the lead UX designer within Cisco's Cloud and Mobile Collaboration team, spearheading the development of pivotal features including "Content Sharing," "Meetings," and "Marketplace (Integrations & Bots)" for both mobile and desktop clients. My responsibilities encompassed the creation of comprehensive flow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes. Collaborating closely with product managers, I played a crucial role in strategizing the rollout of upcoming features across diverse platforms and devices. Furthermore, I maintained a close partnership with engineers throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring seamless translation of designs into tangible products by delivering meticulous annotations and design specifications. On this page, you'll find a glimpse of my design work for Content Sharing within the app.

Content Sharing Flow Diagram

Prior to delving into sketching and ideation, particularly when tackling substantial projects requiring thorough understanding and meticulous attention to detail, I consistently employ the practice of creating flow diagrams. This approach not only enhances my comprehension but also facilitates more effective design outcomes. Additionally, it offers a clearer roadmap for the engineering team during the development phase. Upon joining Cisco at the close of 2013, I was tasked with spearheading the design efforts for the Content Sharing feature within the nascent Cisco Spark app (now Cisco Webex Teams). Following discussions with stakeholders, I embarked on crafting the accompanying flow diagram. Within the diagram, elements highlighted in light blue signify future considerations, while those in a darker shade denote essential components mandated for the initial release.
